Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a time‑honored therapy from East Asian medicine that uses ultra‑fine needles to gently stimulate specific sites on the body. This encourages the body’s own self‑regulating systems to engage, helping to ease pain, calm the nervous system, and support balance across physical and emotional health. Each session is tailored to your unique pattern of imbalance and wellness goals.

herbal medicine

Chinese herbal medicine is a foundational part of East Asian medicine that uses plant, mineral, and natural substances to support the body’s internal balance and address root patterns of imbalance. Herbal formulas may be time-honored, pre-made blends or thoughtfully customized to meet your individual needs. Herbal medicine can support a wide range of concerns including digestive and metabolic health, menstrual and hormonal regulation, immune support, inflammation, chronic pain, sleep disturbances, mood, fatigue & more and is often used alongside acupuncture for more sustained results.

moxibustion

Moxibustion brings therapeutic warmth to the body by applying heat from dried mugwort (Ai Ye) near specific areas and acupuncture points. The heat works at an infrared‑like level, gently penetrating tissues to support circulation, warm cold patterns, and strengthen the body’s energy. This grounding therapy can be deeply comforting and is often integrated with acupuncture for greater effect.

gua sha & cupping

Cupping and gua sha are gentle, non-invasive techniques that support the body’s natural flow and release tension. Cupping uses suction—either with glass cups and fire or silicone cups—to lift tissues, enhance blood and lymph circulation, and encourage the body’s detox pathways. Gua sha uses a smooth-edged tool to glide over the skin, helping release stagnation, ease tightness, reduce inflammation, and promote relaxation. Together, these practices can relieve muscular discomfort, support lymphatic movement, loosen tight fascia, and foster a sense of grounded calm.

microneedling

Microneedling is a gentle, minimally invasive treatment that supports the skin’s natural ability to heal and renew itself. Using fine, sterile needles, the treatment encourages collagen production, improves circulation, and helps soften fine lines, smooth texture, and reduce the appearance of acne scarring over time.

“Before finding Dr. Emily Sullivan, I spent six straight months trapped in a continuous period that would not stop, even after every Western medical intervention was exhausted. I was given birth control, endless supplements, surgical suggestions, dismissive answers, and zero hope. No one believed my body could recover on its own. I felt defeated, scared, and convinced something inside me was permanently broken.

Dr. Emily Sullivan changed that.

From the moment I sat in her office, she saw possibility where others saw a problem. She listened. Deeply, patiently, without judgment.

She believed my body still knew how to heal. She believed there was a path back to balance, and she never once doubted it.

Through personalized herbal formulas and acupuncture that was compassionately gentle, my pain finally began to ease. Not the temporary relief I was used to. Real relief. My six-month bleed ended. I've now had two normal cycles with almost zero pain, my energy returned, and I feel like a functioning human being again.
Her knowledge and expertise as a Doctor of Chinese Medicine and acupuncturist didn't just treat my symptoms, it restored my confidence in my body.

What Western medicine could not resolve, her care did. She relieved my pain instead of masking it. She showed me that healing was still possible.

I've worked with many acupuncturists over the years, in multiple cities, and I have never experienced someone with her level of skill, intuition, warmth, and genuine compassion.
She celebrated every milestone with me. She held space for the hard moments. She listened to every word I said and took meticulous notes. She treated me like a human being, not a diagnosis.

She didn't just help me heal. She gave me my life back.

Struggling with imbalanced hormones, ovarian cysts, painful cycles, pelvic pain, adenomyosis, digestive issues, anxiety, or chronic fatigue is terrifying. A couple months ago, I was paralyzed by that fear.

But when my hormones began to heal, everything else followed. My digestion, my energy, my mood, even my relationships. That's what happens when someone treats the whole person, not just the symptoms.
I don't say this lightly: I would trust Emily with any woman who is hurting and can't find answers.

If you're scared, skeptical, or convinced you've tried everything, let this be your sign:

You haven't tried her. And you absolutely should.”

“Before I started seeing Dr. Emily, I was dealing with years of pain from an old injury, pain from a current injury, soreness, and exhaustion from a physically demanding job. I was feeling all around out of touch with my body. Dr. Emily approached my issues with openness, knowledge, understanding, and straight up skill. Immediately, she was able to subdue the pain of my old injury, and for the first time in as long as I could remember, I was sleeping through the night. Within weeks, my current injury was completely healed and I never felt it again. Through herbs and needlework, my cycle became regular for the first time in many years.

Dr. Emily brings a calm and kind energy to her sessions. She is very clear and great at explaining everything that she’s observing and working on. She takes thorough notes, and I swear, she sometimes knew my schedule better than I did.

It’s clear that she truly cares about her patients, and that energy is parallel to her passion and talent for her practice. She clearly loves what she does, and that is the kind of energy you want moving through your needles. If I could travel across state lines for my weekly sessions, I would.”
